I use "brief" mode (help brief) which the "automated" configuration can use in most cases. However, you still have to code triggers for "you can't go that way" types of cases.

Earth priests already have a spell that produces an altar that allows one to sacrifice items (and it also has the side effect of counting as an altar for minion upkeep).
