This bone fragment resembles a crown albeit a crude one. A ridge vaguely forms an oval. 
Another ridge goes from one axis of the of the oval to the
other. This ridge is in turn bisected by another ridge that is perpendicular to it. 
Small pikes rise out what might be the 'front' of the
crown and steadily become smaller toward the 'back.' It most certainly does not look 
comfortable though as similar though smaller spikes project
downward from the solid base of what likely was once the crest of some odd creature.
It is of petty quality, and it is in perfect condition.
It looks like it would cover your miscellaneous slot.
