Support Icesus

Icesus is run by Jää ry, a registered Finnish non-profit. We keep the game free and open with the help of our supporting members and volunteer wizards. There are two ways to help: with money, and with time.

Become a supporting member

Supporting members fund Jää ry directly. The membership fee covers server costs, infrastructure, and the long-term independence of the project — no advertising, no shareholders, no in-game purchases.

Membership fee

50 EUR per year. Paid annually, renewable each year by paying again.

Volunteer with us

Icesus is built and maintained entirely by volunteers. We always need more — especially wizards (builders and coders), but every contribution helps.

Become a wizard

Wizards build the world: they design areas, write quests and monsters, code new guilds and game systems, run events, and welcome new players. We are always looking for new wizards.

What we look for:

How to apply:

  1. Play Icesus and learn the world. We require your character to reach level 25 before applying (special exceptions exist for mudlib or systems work).
  2. Find a wizard willing to sponsor you. Join the in-game coding channel and take part in discussions — that is the natural place to meet wizards and show your interest.
  3. Your sponsor takes your application into the formal process and guides you through the next steps.

For full details, type help wizzing in-game once you have a character. Questions can also go to admins@icesus.org or our Discord.
