This spell was invented by the shapeshifters using bear, wolf and cat forms. Many of them were usually badly injured when fighting against many or powerful foes mostly because of their common berserk attack styles. Even the dumbest shapeshifters understood that they needed more protection and invented this spell that strengthens and thickens their natural fur so that it can even withstand sword blows. As a side effect the fur gains an odd silvery colour, which makes hiding a bit harder but that seldom is an issue with wolf, bear and cat shapeshifters.
