= Privacy Policy = Jää ry is based in Finland and runs and operates this game, Icesus. Jää ry collects and processes various information of you to operate its services. Jää ry may transfer this data to third parties for the purpose of operating its services. Jää ry may use your data to provide you with updates about our services or third party services we deem relevant. The information stored contains personal information you have willfully registered to the game and information collected through automated means when using our services. You can review, modify and delete your personal information through the 'register'-command. Jää ry also collects IP-addresses of clients that connect to our servers. This information is retained for security reasons. In case of a data breach, Jää ry will notify its users as soon as possible. = The Principles = Jää ry shall so far as is reasonably practical comply with the data protection principles set by governing legislation to ensure that all data is: * Lawfully processed * Relevant and not excessive * Processed in accordance with the data subject's rights * Secure Inquiries regarding the privacy policy are to be directed to batry@bat.org. = Privacy policy in MUD = Privacy on a MU* is almost non-existant. It is very easy for Wizards create snooping devices that circumvent whatever privacy guarantees we may try to enforce. This is not to say that snooping devices are acceptable, they are not. Unless another user has given express permission to a Wizard, that Wizard has no business snooping on him. Any Wizard found making and using devices that can be used to snoop, will be subject to disciplinary action by the Admins. Admins are also expected to use discretion when monitoring their MUD, in this case Icesus. You *may* be watched by an Admin, but Admins also understand that they should not listen in on what is clearly a private conversation, unrelated to the MUD. Admins are allowed to snoop, and will do so, in order to ensure that MUD security is not being compromised, that the MUD is not being used as a place for the exchange of illegal information, and to ensure game balance and adherence to whatever rules may apply. So, in general, if you are not behaving in violation of the rules here, then you should consider your privacy to exist. If you are being observed, it is the ethical duty of the Admin not to disclose any private information gleaned from such observations. However, if you are suspected of wrongdoing, and observation confirms it, then you may be subjected to logging of your commands. In general Wizards can: Snoop you. Listen to your tells. Admins can also: read your mails, real name/phonenumber/email info. = See also = * [[snoopable | snoopable ]] * For information regarding relevant legislation, visit: www.gdpr-info.eu [[category:rulebook]]
