Chronomancer Guide
The Chronomancers guild is a 5 level open guild with int or wis requirements to join and level. 1 level of this guild is very handy even for non-casters. Non-casters may find it difficult to meet the requirements in order to take enough levels to use the hallmark spell haste. To join you can enter the rift and drift to chronoguild. You also need a gold ring which can be purchased at the Atherton rift.
Concepts
- The Void - a shortcut through Aegic that lets you drift to existing rifts, beacons or places you’ve memorized. Depending on your skills it may just be faster to run but drifting costs no endurance so far away places may be more accessible through the void. Players who are not a member of the Chornomancer guild cannot enter city rifts (except the Cenedoiss rift) without being in a party with a chronomancer.
- riftable - a room is riftable if a rift can be opened in it. By default rooms are riftable.
- er - common thing for people to say in a party,
erjust means enter rift. It is suggested that you add an alias for this, e.g.alias er enter rift
Skills
- drifting - skill that helps you to quickly
driftin the void. This will speed up how fast you get to a rift or beacon. You can also drift and bring your party along which is handy. - location memory - can be used to save locations so you can drift to them again even if there isn’t an open rift there.
- plane manipulation - casting skill for rift spells
- time manipulation - mastery skill for haste and slow, improves duration for haste at least
Spells
- create beacon - Creates a beacon in the rift that can be drifted to. Beacons have a limited life span and when they fall the caster will get a message.
- haste - A short duration SP hungry spell that gives you more combat assigns. Commonly used by casters. Haste can also be casted at room to improve regen in that room.
- personal dimensional rift - Cheap spell that sucks you and only you into the void letting you drift from anywhere that is riftable.
- reincarnation - Let’s you give someone else a start on a new life. You get some karma for casting it. TBD: Does more spell % gives more karma? or does it give a better reinc with less bad reinc penalty?
- sense energy patterns - Gives you a list of open rifts and beacons. Some rifts are always open, e.g. vaerlon, atherton, graemor, cenedoiss, and chronoguild
- slow - slows mobs down reducing their assigns
- stable dimensional rift - Expensive spell that creates a rift that can allow others to enter/exit the void. Places you have memorized can be a target of this spell allowing you to drift to them and exit the void. When someone asks for a rift on the wanted channel they are asking for you to cast stable dimensional rift at them which will open a rift at their location if it is riftable.
- unstable dimensional rift - cheaper way (than stable dimensional rift) to open a rift that will close when you enter. It will also drain your sps until it is closed so if casting for a party make sure they are not afk. This is a common way for an exp party to move from one place to another with the leader opening an unstable rift, getting everyone to enter and then party drifting to the next location.
Beacon naming
The naming system for beacons is first 3 letters of your character then rf# for stable rifts or bc# for beacons. Where # starts with 1 and goes up if you have a second beacon on so on.
