Inner sense is a passive ability that xperienced miners develop over time. It allows you to detect subtle changes in the mine environment — shifts in air pressure, faint tremors, the smell of gas — that warn of impending disasters.

This skill works automatically while you are mining. A keen inner sense lets you read the rock and instinctively avoid the strikes that would bring it down, so the better trained you are, the less often a cave-in, gas explosion, or flood catches you out.

The skill improves through exposure to dangerous mining situations.
