Twelve powers share the valley. Six of them are kingdoms: Valkor, Graemor, Silverspire, Khazakul, Eskara and Gaesati. Cenedoiss is a city-state. The other five are peoples who live outside the kingdoms: the Stormlord clans, the Hegemony of the Eye (Tyranus), the Bloodaxe horde, the Mantis Hive and the Bandits.

Every character grows up in one of the twelve. The homeland is chosen when the character is created and stays with the character for life. Some homelands open only to characters with enough experience.
