Wagon

From Icesus Wiki

A wagon or handcart is how stone, ore and bars move around a province. The wagon verb has two homes: on the vehicle itself, which answers wherever it stands, and at the buildings that load or unload it.

On the vehicle (anywhere it stands)

wagon load <n> stone load blocks from a pile, the ground, or your hands
wagon load all stone as many as the wagon will take
wagon unload <n> stone heave that many back out
wagon unload all stone empty the bed

On province ground the unloaded blocks stack onto the pile standing there. Anywhere else they come out loose — as many as you can hold, the rest at your feet.

A wagon takes stone from any pile you may draw from: your own, or the province's once you hold Worker standing there — one mission register, anywhere in the province, is enough. Council members can move their own province's stone freely. Outside Workers share a fifty-block daily allowance per province between wagon loading and unstack. Loose blocks on the ground or in your hands do not use that allowance. Direct delivery from a province pile to its own building site is also uncapped, up to what the current stage needs.

With more than one eligible vehicle here, name the one you mean:

wagon load 5 stone into wagon 2
wagon unload all stone from handcart

The storehouse handcart takes sixty pieces of typed cargo. Loose blocks may also ride in its bed (put block in handcart), subject to its separate weight and space limits. Use look handcart to check its load.

Move a handcart with start pushing handcart; stop pushing handcart sets it down. Only its borrower may push it, and only an owned wagon's owner may attach it to a mount. Travel with one hauling team at a time: stop pushing extra carts or stop leading extra mounts before setting off. Completed bridges support hauling; unfinished crossings and open water can refuse it. If a move is refused, read the message and check where your load is before continuing.

At the storehouse yard

deposit all block every block in your hands, in one go
wagon deposit <item> one item out of a cart you own parked here
wagon deposit stone the whole stone load into the province pool
value <item> preview the payment without depositing

The treasury pays for accepted blocks. A Stone Hauling mission counts those yard deliveries and pays on top of the yard rate. Surplus that cannot fit in the stores stays with you or aboard.

At a construction site

build deposit stone every block within reach — your hands, the
ground, a pile on the lot you may draw from,
a wagon you own — up to what the stage needs

block and blocks are the same word to this verb, so build deposit block sweeps too. There is no single-block form: a stage that wants forty would need the verb typed forty times.

build deposit iron and build deposit steel likewise collect bars from your hands, the ground and eligible vehicles, including loose bars in the bed, up to the current stage's need. Material Hauling missions count the units delivered to the site.

At the mine entrance and smeltery

wagon load <n> <ore> sorted ore from your bins
wagon load <n> <ore> from pool council: from the pool pile
wagon unload <n> <ore> into the bins

At a smeltery, add bar or bars to load or unload finished metal, such as wagon load 5 iron bars. Stone uses the vehicle commands above.

At the province stable

wagon list list your parked wagons and the rack's stock
wagon park <wagon> board a wagon you own
wagon retrieve [tier] bring one back — light, freight or heavy
wagon respawn <slot> council: replace a lost rack wagon

Restored stables lend one light wagon. Improved adds another light wagon and a freight wagon; Advanced adds a second freight wagon and a heavy wagon. Use take <slot> with a slot from wagon list, and return <wagon> at its home stable when empty. At the storehouse, take handcart borrows its cart; return handcart 2 selects the second handcart when several are present.

Parking and recovery

Each vehicle keeps its own saved load. Recover borrowed carts and wagons through the rack they came from; recover personal wagons with wagon retrieve at their stable. A live vehicle cannot also be recovered as another copy.

Typed stone, ore and bars, plus supported loose wood products and stone blocks, travel with the saved vehicle. Unload other loose items before parking or logging out. Returning a loaner to its rack requires it to be empty. If an older loan record cannot be matched safely, the stablehands retain it for a wizard to resolve.
